Bostrig Oil Rig Cables: 3-Ci Manufacturing in Calgary, Alberta.
What are Bostrig Oil Rig Cables?
Bostrig Oil Rig Cables are classified as Type P (Marine & Offshore Cable). They are specifically designed for power, control, and signal and instrumentation applications. Type P Cables have been created for the main purpose of installation and use in the very harsh environments such as the ones found within marine vessels and onshore and offshore oil and gas drilling rigs. As we all know, these undesirable environments can include very high heat, frigid cold, unrelenting vibration, drilling mud, mechanical stress, and everyone's favourite - salt corrosion.
Are Bostrig Oil Rig Cables of high quality?
Here at 3-Ci Manufacturing in Calgary, Alberta, we understand that reliability on drilling rigs is an absolute must. It is necessary to have cables in stock that conform to the very strict standards and approvals. Bostrig Oil Rig Cables are always of the highest quality and are up-to-par with these very strict standards. They have incredible resistance to oil, moisture, abrasion, sunlight and ester-based mud (Type P-MR).
What are Bostrig Oil Rig Cables best suited for?
Bostrig Oil Rig Cables (XLPE cross-linked polyolefin) are suitable for use in Zone 1, Division 1, and Class 1 applications and, of course, they meet all of the crush and impact resistance requirements (C&IR) of UL 2225. (Armoured & sheathed version only.) The standard insulation has a continuous operating temperature of 125ºC which allows for higher ampacity levels. The larger diameter cables now carry a new flexible design. They satisfy Transport Canada’s cold bend at -40ºC and cold impact at -35ºC (CSA C 22.2 No. 0.3).
