3-CI's solution was to design and create an overmolded cable with a custom aluminium backshell, terminal insulating agent and polyurethane overmold to strengthen the physical strainrelief and ensure that electrical contacts were protected.
An expensive arc-weldig robot is used by this client to create their product. The cable it comes with must be able to work when exposed to liquids. That said, it consistently suffered breakage within the connective joint which exposed contacts; a short within the cable would destroy the robot's control system and also constituted a hazardous work environment.

Deep sea research can be a tricky feat. Factors such as pressure, chemical makeup, rust issues, and so on must be considered when controling and powering expensive unmaned underwater machinery. This is further complicated when the underwater device required 3 independant units to function: Power, Signal and Tow
3-CI's solution was to design and create a kevlar laced polyurethane shipboard composite cable, designed for high pressures, and molded with a type 3 anodized connector. The unique form of molding ensured no seepage and the composite kevlar cable acted as power, signal and toe when combined with a breakout stainless steel winch.

3-CI's solution was to design and create a fully enclosed solid-state polyurethane harness with overmolded connectors. all wires are enclosed with a jacketed petro-chemical resistant plastic and shielded from external factors.
Harnesses on heavy duty vehicles are exposed to all sorts of sever factors which eventually lead to failure. A robust cable is thus required to keep the automotive functioning without expensive electrical diagnosis and corrective action.
SatelliteCommunicationsclient
An array of cables in field operations made working difficult due to the sheer mess associated with complicated setups. Setup and takedown of portable operations was further complicated by units assemblies which were virtually indistinguishable from one another.
3-CI's solution was to design and create a unique solution now named the iBlock. It essentially takes one or several composite cables and breaks them down into several individual units closer to the device with which they connect. This combined with Vivid-Color overmolds simplified setup and takedown procedure and reduced overall clutter.

All Mill-Spec connectors in the market today are susceptible to physical corrosion simply due to the simple fact that they are comprised of a metal or some metallic compound.
Extended field use, especially in challenging environments, will eventually lead to the deterioration of connections and thus expensive diagnosis and replacement costs. To mitigate this problem one must be discerning when it comes to connector composition.
The ideal connector would be one made of a highly stable compound such as iron or titanium, however as you may have already guessed the costs would also be prohibitive.

Within category of anodized connectors exist 2 major distinct form of connectors:
1. Black anodized connectors
2. Electroless nickel plated anodized connectors
Each has distinct advantages and vary according to price however 3-CI offers a third option: The Type III Black Zinc Cobalt Plate Anodized Connector. This connector has been shown to be almost on par with stainless steel in terms of strength and slightly better in terms of salt spray resistance.

The black unit is a 3-CI Type III which has been in a harsh environment for several years. Note that it has only a topical buildup, which can be easily removed with a household agent such as C.L.R., and has sustained no structural damage. The second unit is a standard anodized connector which has been used in a comparable environment over a comparable duration of time; note it's severe structural corrosion.
3-CI Type III connectors offer the dependability required in sensitive field operations and come at a fraction of the price compared to other industry alternatives with similar resilience. An extra point of interest you may want to keep in mind, and please don't mind our gloating, is the 3-CI over-molds which have sustained virtually no damage over the years which have severely tested grit of the connectors they bind.
